We've been busy shooting some tests for an upcoming video with Van Way Racing. A big thank you to Earl May for opening up his track to us and to Red Hills for accommodating our shoot at their international horse trials.

The shoots are a test of our new jib from Ez Fx and a test of 120fps on our FS700.

"Harper's Gift" my Filmmaking 3 project. It's a short film inspired by a true story of my family. It's dedicated to my sister, Kelly Harper Gines.

"The eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you," nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you." On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together." -1 Corinthians 12

Harper’s Gift takes a journey into the eyes of a young girl with special needs as she sees the pain of her family during a particular Thanksgiving Day, where, unbeknownst to the character, Harper, the uncle and cousins to who’s house the family has all traveled to stay with and support this holiday, has lost their mother and his wife within the month. For Harper it does not appear that she will have an opportunity to serve this hurting family because of her special needs; however, we through the story we learn that this could not be more wrong. Harper’s Gift is a story that demonstrates the truth of 1 Corinthians 12, that every part of the body has a gift to give.

I was following a few campus ministers at FSU for a cinéma vérité documentary on full time ministry on a major university campus, when two of the staff members up and got engaged to one another, and then realtime telling of the story of their engagement became my documentary.

"Becky & Grace" was our film exercise of our Filmmaking 2 class in which we worked with actors taking the Film School's acting for the camera class.

We had four hours to make our film on the sound stage. I wrote my script to take place on a sound stage.

Fun Fact :: I employed my now wife Lauren (then Paxton) to be my costume designer just to get to hang out with her... It worked out!

This is a documentary I made at Idyllwild Arts Academy after I graduated in the spring of 2007.

Colonel Heath "Bo" Bottomly became a good friend while I was in Idyllwild, and he taught me a lot about story. He lives his life with the mantra "everyday is a story." For over 75 years Col. Bo has journaled everyday of his life -- even the times he spent as a POW. He always signs off saying "have a day!."
